An original storyboard from The Lion King, 1994
With an award-winning soundtrack featuring numbers by Elton John and Hans Zimmer, and a cast with such voice actors as James Earl Jones, Whoopi Goldberg and Rowan Atkinson, it is unsurprising that Walt Disney’s 1994 animated film ‘The Lion King’ continues to be a global favourite. It won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, had two sequels and one prequel, spawned a global touring Broadway production and, most recently, a photo-realistic adaptation in 2019 featuring the voices of Beyoncé and Donald Glover. The original film from 1994 is still the high-grossing traditionally animated film of all time and this drawing is taken from an original storyboard created and used by the animators during the film’s early production.
Displayed on its original, beautifully aged paper, this original storyboard drawing showcases the artistic nature of the early animations and their warmly expressive forms. Now mounted and framed, this piece is the perfect way to add a sophisticated and muted touch of Disney magic to your home. Match with another drawing from our to create a perfect pair.
